Do you love your lashes?

Do you love your lashes? There are 3 options that are sure give you the lashes you long for.

So many of my clients ask how they can get longer, fuller lashes. There are a few different product options out on the market, but only 1 that is FDA approved to dramatically increase the length of your lashes. Latisse is a product that helps your eyelashes grow, resulting in longer, thicker lashes. Your lashes have 3 growing cycles. The active ingredient in Latisse keeps your lashes stay in the Anagen Phase, or the growth phase. The results are awesome. I've had people tell me that they have had to decrease their usage because their lashes are so long that they hit their glasses. Latisse is easy to use and requires low maintenance compared to lash extensions. Go to http://www.latisse.com/ to view before and after pics and read testimonials.
Latisse does require a prescription, so call 480-990-9355 to schedule a consultation with Susie today!

There are two other treatments that will accentuate your lashes, both available at Scottsdale Waxing. Sick of trying to get your lashes to curl? Lash perming is a revolutionary technique that will give your lashes instant curl and the attention they deserve!

Lash tinting will give you dark lashes without the hasle of mascara, great for swim season and vacations!!

I am so excited to introduce the ultra sonic micro current that can be added to any facial!
The micro current is very effective in increasing circulation, which helps to stimulate cell regeneration. It also aids in the exfoliation process, helping to slough off dead skin cells. The ultra sonic micro current helps to reduce pore size, improve tone and texture of the skin and allows for deeper penetration of products. Add to any facial for only $5. Also don't forget to book for your waxing appointment. Receive a FREE brow wax with any bikini wax!!

My Favorite Sunscreen

Applying sunscreen is probably the number one most important thing you can do for your skin. I can't tell you how many times I hear "Well I'm not in the sun very much." Even if you don't spend very much time in the sun, you are still exposing your skin to harmful rays just by walking to, or sitting in your car. Your skin is also exposed to UVA and UVB rays through windows and sky lights. So just because you don't necessarily spend time in the sun, it is important to protect yourself every day from the damaging effects of the sun.

UVA and UVB... What do they mean?
In a nutshell, UVA and UVB stand for Ultraviolet- A and Ultraviolet-B solar rays. UVA has a shorter wavelength than UVB and can penetrate the skin more deeply. Both UVA and UVB rays can be damaging to the skin causing fine lines and wrinkles, loss of elasticity, hyper pigmentation, and in the worst cases, basal and squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. It is important that your sunscreen is broad-spectrum, meaning that it protects you from both UVA and UVB rays.

My favorite product is Jan Marini's Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 30. Not only is it broad-spectrum, but it also has antioxidants in it that will help to repair any damage that has already occured. It absorbs right into the skin, leaving it feeling silky smooth, not heavy or oily. It is so lightweight that you can't even tell that you have it on. It is also awesome for people who feel a bit oily (especially in the summer) because it actually has micro-sponges in it that helps to absorb excess oil! And to top it off, it doesn't smell like traditional sunscreen. Love it!!
Jan Marini also has tinted SPF Protection is a couple different shades that are sure to give you a sun kissed glow without the damaging effects of the sun!!

Body and Balance Expo

The Body and Balance Expo was an extremely successful event to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Guests were able to shop, mingle and sample some of the services offered at The Edge on Wellness while listening to great live music. A fun day for women that was filled with laughter, health and beauty tips, and all while benefiting a great cause. Thanks to 2009 AZ's Finest Honorees Ashley Ulinger and Veronique James, VOS 20-30 Club and all the wonderful women who helped to make this event such a success!

Brazilian Waxing and hair growth

Your hair has three growth cycles. You might notice when you shave, that your hair grows in every couple of days. This is because your hair is on different growth cycles and is not removed from the root. The goal with waxing is to get all of the hair on the same cycle so that it can be waxed all at the same time resulting super smooth skin. If you normally shave, I recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before waxing. I know it is going to be hard to wait, especially since you are used to removing the hair daily but it will be worth it. There are 2 reasons for waiting to wax after shaving: (1) to make sure the hair is long enough for the wax to grab and (2) to let the growth cycles catch up with each other. After waxing the 1st couple of times, you may notice that some of the hair was too short for the wax to grab or that some hairs are growing in faster than others. It does take a couple times of waxing to get all the hairs on the same cycle. But once they all catch up with each other, there should not be any hair (stubble) after waxing. For optimal results, it is recommended to schedule your appointments every 4-6 weeks. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding waxing. www.scottsdalewaxing.com

Waxing 101

Waxing is a semi-permante form of hair removal. Waxing allows the hair to be pulled out at the root and has many benefits opposed to the more common form of hair removal such as shaving. Waxing helps to reduce ingrown hairs and razor bumps. Since the hair is removed at the root, it kind of "deadens" the hair follicle, resulting in thinner, less coarse hair. You will usually notice a difference in the in hair growth even after your first wax. It is recommended to schedule your appointments every 4-6 weeks. Stay tuned for more information on hair growth cycles and how it pertains to waxing.
